What’s your job title?
Junior Software Developer.
What do you actually do?
I primarily focus on the frontend of our projects. My role mainly involves converting the team’s designs and logic specifications into React code and implementing testing for the components that form the user interfaces in our applications.
What made you get into it?
My brother and I used to spend hours pondering the next big app idea. A few years ago, I decided to learn how to build one. This led me on the arduous but fulfilling journey through the wonderful world of software development and I knew I wanted to pursue this as a career. I loved the concept of turning an idea into software that could help millions armed with no more than a laptop and an internet connection.
As I sharpened my skills, I transitioned into a role as a web administrator at work. However, driven by a desire to create software that made a positive difference, I joined Japeto in August.
When not at work, you can be found…
I love keeping active, lifting weights and playing sports although I’m actually looking for a new one to get into at the moment. When I’m feeling more lazy though, you can catch me on the playstation playing Apex Legends with more enthusiasm than skill.
Im also a huge music fan, so I’m also partial to a gig or festival with friends.
What mythical creature would you believe was real?
It’s got to be some kind of sea creature like the Kraken. We really don’t know what’s down in the depths of the oceans, and that’s why I’m staying on land.
If you could be transformed into one animal, which one would you choose?
Contrary to my last statement, a seagull. You get to fly around in the sky, swoop down and snatch chips from unexpecting beach-goers, sounds like a fun and tasty life.
