A new way to book your HIV test
Positive East offers HIV and STI testing at zero cost. Their emphasis on community-based testing means they can be found at clubs, libaries, and community centres across East London any day of the week.
They wanted to update their system from a drop-in service to being able to pre-book appointments for in-person testing.
Integrating with an existing system
Behind the scenes, Positive East was already managing and tracking clinic times and appointments in Salesforce. However, it was a very manual process. Visitors had to call to book an appointment.
Working with the Salesforce developers at St Mungos, Japeto built a web app that could talk directly to the Salesforce system.
We designed and developed a front-end widget using React that allowed visitors to search for clinics based on location OR the best time for them.
Results
You can book your STI and HIV testing appointment through the website without ever picking up a phone or chancing the availability at a walk-in clinic. Since going live in January 2023, there have been nearly 2k bookings through the new system – and it’s growing!
